Professor of Cognitive Developmental Psychology Head of BCL Programme Director for the Master in Developmental, Learning and Educational Psychology (EUR HEALTHY) My research focuses on written language. More specifically, the aim of my work is to describe and understand the various characteristics of text-writing processes, how they operate and how they change, in relation to the constraints imposed by the writers’ cognitive system (i.e., long-term memory and working memory), their characteristics (writing expertise, academic level, level of prior knowledge, motivations and emotions, …) and the task environment (situations, instructions, audience, …). For this purpose, two types of methods are used: off-line (i.e., analysis of texts once they have been produced) and on-line (study of real-time management of production through temporal measures such as pause durations or writing speeds).
